Hello and thank you for stopping by Southern Charm Woodworks. We are a Father & Daughter shop. My dad was in the construction business for many years. He would do wood projects all the time in our garage growing up. We grew up with the smell of cut wood which we believe is a wonderful fragrance. He would make custom projects, cabinetry, furniture, and refinished things all the time.
What started out as a side hobby became a passion for him. I got my degree in Interior Design and knew the ins and outs of the housing world. Most Interior Designers are very artistic and passionate for making beautiful home interiors.
Our business started when my dad was remodeling an old house and there were beautiful old wood boards being pulled from the house. I was visiting the job site one day and I saw these incredible original exterior doors with the house number attached. They were going to throw away the doors and the old barnwood when we asked if we could salvage it, they thankfully agreed to let us keep them.
We purposed the doors into two Stunning entry way organizer, with hooks for coats and purses, and a bench for storage. You can find the picture of the finish door in our shop photos. Being the creative person I am, I had to find a use for all of the barnwood. That's when our most popular and our original product was thought up.
I had been looking for a Bath Tray that I wanted to display proudly in the Master Bath. I never found any that had all the features I wanted on it. I sketched up an idea I had for a bath tray, and my dad did the rest. He got to work on our first tray and he exceeded my expectations. After we got so many compliments and other people wanting them we had the idea to start our business.
Southern Charm Woodworks was born from creativity, excellent craftsmanship and a love between a Father and Daughter.
